The Company was established in 1980, and is based in Musswelldale, Boksburg on the East Rand in a 2 000m² Factory on a 4 000m² S.I.T.E.

Initially the Company was geared and equipped to manufacture close tolerance Injection Moulding dies and Tooling for the Plastic Industry.

Due to a depressed market in the eighties the manufacture of Plastic Moulding dies was insufficient to sustain a fully equipped Engineering works, what followed did, - General Engineering, Jobbing work for construction vehicles manufacturing
of Mining equipment spares for major companies supplying the Mining Industry.

During the early nineties the acquisition of an Injection Moulding Company comprising of several machines, dryers and tooling added to our base of manufactured products.
The plastic division produces products for the Electrical Industry and Mining related products such as sealing components for rock drilling machines.

A further compliment of the acquisition is that the company produces glass filled nylon components for the Delta Idlers and Rollers manufactured by Delcon.

During 2001 the demand in the Mining Industry for rubberised products initiated the establishment of Delcon Rubber Services providing services to the Mining and Industrial
sectors, namely, the rubber lining of pipes, tanks, chutes, vibrator screens, etc. of high quality application on S.I.T.E. or Factory either by steam cure or chemical cure.

The Group consists of three divisions each managed by a qualified and experienced manager in their sector with skilled and semi-skilled workers totalling approximately fifty with contract workers.

Late 2008 Delcon acquired the agency to market the Avant Mini Loader in the Mining Industry S.A.

Together with other closely affiliated companies Delcon has the capacity to produce and supply a quality range of new products.
